Teresa Guidice lost her arch nemesis Danielle Staub from the cast of Real Housewives of New Jersey, but the show’s producers used their magic to pull not one, but three antagonistic rabbits out of their hats to make up for it. The rub is they’re all related to Teresa (brother Joe Giudice, and his wife Melissa are joining the show, along with Teresa’s cousin Kathy Wakile), and Teresa had to find out from the media and Bravo, not the family members themselves that they were on the show. Throw that in with the stress of spending money like it’s growing on trees planted outside your over-sized, ornate house and then finding out that your husband had been lying about the state of your finances, forging your name on legal docs, filing for bankruptcy behind your back, and committing fraud; it’s really a wonder Teresa isn’t in a mental institution somewhere. Fame is a powerful drug.

And Teresa just can’t help taking more hits of it. Considering that, the “bright side” is that all this drama gives Teresa a reason to flip a table, or Andy Cohen, in a blind rage. But the bad parts, of course, are emotional turmoil, rifts within a family, and various unresolved traumas. The worst part is probably the fact that their children have to witness all this nastiness between the adults in their lives. As Teresa told E! Online in her own words “It’s really sad. I cry a lot.”

The public first caught a glimpse of the drama in Teresa’s family when nemesis Danielle Staub riled Teresa up during last season’s Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion by asking Teresa “Did you acknowledge your nephew?” We later found out she was referring to the baby son her husband Joe had with his wife Melissa Gorga, and even if Teresa hadn’t yet “acknowledged” him, she soon would at a hellacious christening ceremony. Watch the full video of that emotionally draining and violent night below. Teresa and Joe’s dad almost has a heart attack, and everyone at the christening party for the little baby is terrorized:

According to their Facebook pages, the sisters-in-law have been also been in a bitter tiff over cookies, and Cookiegate will play out as a storyline. According to Melissa’s post, Christmas 2009 Melissa brought some cookies from an Italian to Teresa’s house, and she told Melissa that she threw them out because she thought they were from the A & P Supermarket, and because she didn’t like them. She went on:

“I should have said, ” Well they are better then the NOTHING THAT YOU BRING TO MY HOUSE EVERY EASTER!! How can someone be so rude, and always want to attack someone else, what could it be, HMMMMM! I think I might know but I wont go there. I think some people need to come back to plant earth, Oh I forgot, she also let everyone know Last night, AND I QUOTE ” I AM A CELEBRITY” I’ve been quiet for so long but now you’ve pushed me right over the edge! RIGHT OVER IT!!

Later, on the show, Melissa brings MORE cookies to Teresa’s house for Christmas, and from the promos, we hear Teresa say affectedly “I LOVE those cookies!”

Melissa, who is just as spoiled as Teresa (maybe more so, but she admits it) and lives in a 15,000 sq. ft. ostentatious mansion, continues to not mince words about her sister-in-law: “That bitch will never miss a party, especially if someone else is paying for it.”

But Teresa claims that Melissa is just copying her! She gossiped about her sis-in-law in her newest cookbook Fabulicious: “Do I wish my baby sister-in-law didn’t copy everything I do down to the shoes I wear and the chairs on my front porch? Of course! “But you know what they say: “You can’t pick your family.” Because, as we all know, cookbooks aren’t for recipes and cooking tips, they’re for dishing dirt on our enemies and family (In her previous cookbook, Skinny Italian, Teresa gabbed about Danielle Staub.)

According to Teresa, she didn’t even know that her sister-in-law and cousin Kathy were going to be on the show at all until she (likely) heard from the media, and then from Bravo.

One thing’s for sure, it’s going to be a wild ride of a season!
Teresa claims that she used to have a wonderful relationship with her brother, but cousin Kathy says that the two siblings have a lot of unresolved issues that go way back. Kathy notes on the show “It’s about not communicating what you’re truly feeling when you put those emotions away and you don’t discuss them.”

Melissa & Joe are disgusting. Every family has issues. It was Joe Gorga’s fault for the fight @ the party. Just be civil. Even if you don’t mean it. Hello it was a baby’s party! I was afraid their father was going to have a heart attack. No one should keep u away from family. Joe Gorga keeps saying how important family is. Then step up and be in your parents lives. He is all ego. He is jealous of Theresa’s fame (even if part of it is bad for her money issues right now) and he is jealous of his parents relationship with his sister & her husband. He needs to put his ego aside and be a better man. He looks like a spoiled 10yr old brat. That fight could have killed their sick Nono. He prob would have blamed that on Theresa’s husband too. Cannot wait for their financial woes to come to light. And their in-laws are horrible too. But I’m not going to waste any time on them.

Joe and Melissa were talking about being so classy while eating at the party and 5 minutes later he was going Danielle Staub on everyone. He needs some anger management classes. Where were his kids when he was screaming and carrying on? They weren’t with their mother and the cameras never showed them. Looks like that couple have some growing up to do. It does seem though that Melissa is trying really hard to be Teresa.

I disagree with some of the points above.

First, I think Teresa is jealous of Melissa. Not the other way around. Teresa has Joe as a husband and Joe is a piece of dirt. His layers of failure continue to fall. Teresa is jealous of how Melissa is truly provided for by her husband (Teresa’s Brother). That is what Teresa wants. The traditional Old School Italian Household. But because of Joe Guidice’s failures – Teresa in her own words is ‘Supporting her husband and children.’

I DO feel that Teresa’s Brother is responsible for his own behavior at the Christening. Regardless of what his feelings are towards his sister, brother-in-law, parents…. there is just no excuse to act the way he did. PERIOD…….

Melissa should not excuse her Husband’s behavior by trying to justify it with his excuses for why he is angry. Melissa should rip him a new one for setting a horrible example for their children. PERIOD…….

Teresa needs to get on a life raft and abandon the sinking Joe Guidice ship! He is going to continue to have problems with the law and act like he is the victim.

I believe Joe and Melissa are the ones to blame for all that unnecessary drama at their son’s christening. First of all, how wonderful will it look when their child looks back and sees this all? A christening is suppose to be special, and here Teresa’s brother is taking shot after shot? Classy. He calls Joe Guiduce a drunk, but he can’t even control his drinking at his owns sons christening? Teresa was nothing but nice to them, and she walked into the christening with positive intentions while Joe and Melissa did nothing but talk shit about her from the minute they invited her but what kills me is that they both KNEW they had no good intentions and they acted on it ontop of drinking ridiculous amounts of alcohol. All I’m gonna say is, I’m on Teresa’s side. Melissa and Joe seem to want nothing to do with Teresa but somehow, end up in contact with her. If they don’t like her, then why do they bother? Oh yeah, because they’re ‘CLASSY.’ Right..classy my ass. Melissa looks like a spoiled brat only because her husbands the rich one always working, if it weren’t for her husband she’d be on the streets. She complains about Joe can’t see his father because he works so much and she feels bad because ‘Joe Guiduce took his father away’ oh here’s an idea for you, how about you get a job Melissa so Joe wouldn’t have to work his ass off to support you and he could spend time with his father like you say he ‘really wants’

These new additions to this show are pathetic. Teresa’s brother is jealous of her and can’t stand for her to have anything like a tv show of her own so he as to but in. Ok we say you bozo now but back out!

Joe Giudice is a total slob, loser, criminal and cheater on his taxes his wife everyone. He belittles Gorga and I thought Gorga’s parents were horrible to him at the christening.
Theresa uses her mother like a Nanny. And she is another story, does she have an IQ over 70 really. How can Caroline and Jacqueline tolerate her ridiculous inane nonsense and the ridicoulous way she dresses her children.
But her husband is the pig that should have been on teh skewer in the Catskills.

I find it ironic how everyone is coming to Teresa’s defense now……did you see the way she acted for the past two seasons??? The way she flipped the table in season one and went apeshit on Danielle was so uncalled for. Was it really necessary of her to do that INFRONT OF ALL THEIR CHILDREN?!?!?!?! Her behavior at the season 2 reunion was almost as bad. Yes, Joe Gorga was out of line at the christening but his sister is NO better than he is. These Gorga’s are undeniably animals and just prove that living in a 15,000 sq ft house, throwing lavish parties and living an exquisite life can never buy you an ounce of class!

Wow! I just saw this episode! First of all, why would Melissa be jealous of Theresa? Theresa and her husband have financial, legal, AND marital problems! What’s to be jealous of? Theresa constantly snipes at Melissa. Its ridiculous. She’s terribly unhappy, and it shows.

Second, Joe is driving a wedge between Joe and his father. That’s deplorable, but at the same time Joe has to take his share of the responsibility how things are between him and his dad. As our parents get older we must be good to them. We must visit them and take care of them. Joe couldn’t drive a wedge between Joey and his father, if there was no room to do so.

That performance at the christening was heartbreaking. In this day and age when earthquakes and hurricanes are becoming a norm, why would you create bad blood between your family. You will need one another, guaranteed because it is all up for grabs with life now. And once the other party is gone, the guilt will kill you too. Ask the 9/11 survivors. BASTA!!

Teresa is too hard on Melissa and Kathy. Had she been nicer in the past, they both could have helped her and Joe out of their circumstances. Joe Gorga looks like he would do anything for her if she would stop the madness. And Kathy is a nice woman from what I can see. They both want to open a restaurant, open it together for God’s sakes.

This is awful and I am going to pray that it ends.
