In the world of pop culture you do not get two more devoted fan bases than those of Oprah Winfrey and Bruce Springsteen.  Their work goes beyond the realm of just entertainment for so many, creating a genuine sense of connection and purpose between Oprah, Springsteen and those who have come along for the journey that has been their professional careers.

In a wonderful bit of news the two forces will be coming together via Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network in a recently launched TV series entitled Master Class.  Here is how the show is described via OWN’s home page for the show:

They are the stories you’ve never heard from the people you thought you knew best. Handpicked by Oprah for their unique impact on the world, eight true modern masters sit down to share the untold stories that have shaped their lives and the greatest life lessons they’ve learned along the way. In an intimate setting, they open up about their successes, failures, triumphs, disappointments and heartbreaks.

Master Class offers an unprecedented first-person insight into the brilliant minds of famous people we love, respect and admire. First season masters include Diane Sawyer, Jay-Z, Dr. Maya Angelou, Simon Cowell, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Lorne Michaels and Oprah herself.

As you’ll notice there is no mention of The Boss but in a bit of excitement building up to the premiere of the show which happened April 3rd featuring Oprah herself  the media mogul tweeted the following additional list of performers that will be seen on the show:

No word yet as to an air date but this should prove to be a special evening for Springsteen fans as well as fans of Winfrey who tune in to catch a glimpse of what has motivated the musician throughout his own life journey.
