Teen Mom 2 Reunion Special candid photos from Los Angeles

Jace, Adam Lind, Chelsea Houska, Aubree and Kailyn Lowry in Los Angeles for Teen Mom 2 reunion

As I’m sure all you Teen Mom 2 fans are aware, the girls have been in Los Angeles the last few days recording the Teen Mom 2 Reunion Special with Dr. Drew. We featured numerous arrival photos of the girls at LAX (minus Chelsea) and now we offer some candid photos collected from the stars’ Twitter and Facebook accounts!

In the photo above you can see (from left to right) Jace, Adam Lind, Aubree, Chelsea Houska, Isaac and Kailyn Lowry. The families are seen watching a one-man bad perform – you can see his tip jar there beside Kailyn. (In case you didn’t notice, Chelsea has left the light streaks in her hair behind and fully committed to having more fun as a blond! Click photo to enlarge.)

And speaking of Chelsea, she tweeted this next adorable picture of Aubree sitting on a couch beside Ali (with glasses), one of Leah’s twin daughters:

But Ali’s sweetness wasn’t restricted to just Jace! She also shared some cute lens time with Kailyn’s son Isaac! This photo was tweeted by Kailyn with the caption, “Isaac & his girlfriend, Ali.”

The adorableness marathon continues in this Dancing With The Teen Mom Stars action shot in which Chelsea’s daughter Aubree gives Jenelle’s son Jace a drama-free hug!

In honor of Aubree and Jace’s display of affection, I dug up a flashback photo of the two of them with Barbara (Jenelle’s mom), Chelsea and Dr. Drew from last year’s 16 and Pregnant Reunion Special:

Back to the present (or at least closer to the present), here’s a shot of the view from Kailyn’s hotel window with Kailyn and Isaac’s silhouette:

UPDATE – Here is a photo of all the girls and all the babies posted to the Jace Evans Facebook fan page:

As far as spoilers the only tidbits we got were from Jenelle who revealed in a Twitter exchange with Dr. Drew that she had some sort of outburst during taping and that she was apparently advised to break off all communication with ex(?)boyfriend Kieffer Delp:

Jenelle: @drdrew sry I spazed out on stage at everyone lol I was mad

Dr. Drew: “@PBandJenelley_1: @drdrew sry I spazed out on stage at everyone lol I was mad” Hope you are feeling better today. Tough situation.

Jenelle: @drdrew yes everything is so much better today hopefully haven’t talked to kieffer either 🙂 I’m on a role haha

Jenelle: @drdrew yes everything is better today almost back home and haven’t talked to kieffer 🙂 lol I’m doing good!

Sounds like we are in store for yet another great reunion special!

I wanted to take a moment to clarify something. I’ve said it many times before, but judging from some of the negative reactions to our Teen Mom coverage I think I should say it again. I really do believe this show is a great show and does an amazing job of documenting how these young girls are forced to grow up and accept responsibility in a very short period of time, often without having their baby’s father maturing along beside them.

Obviously it’s not a good thing to be having unprotected sex, especially at such a young age, and I can think of no better way to convey this harsh reality than sharing the real life experiences of the people going through it. I don’t believe the show is exploitative and I don’t think it glamorizes teen pregnancy in ANY way.

All of that being said, there are clearly instances in which the moms don’t seem to be able to make the leap into the maturity it takes to be a mother (Amber, Jenelle) but let me be the first to say that these girls would probably be in a much worse situation if they weren’t on MTV!

And for each of these struggling moms there are other Teen Moms that seem to be successfully making the transition and are nothing short of admirable in their triumphs. Maci, Leah, Catelynn… you girls really are an inspiration.

This show is popular not because it is a perpetual trashy dramatic train wreck (Jersey Shore) but because when it’s all said and done we are watching real people with real problems just trying to make it through. Sure, Teen Mom is a bit overly dramatic at times, but even Shakespeare would admit that in the end a play/movie/reality show should entertain.

Yeah, I just compared Shakespeare to Teen Mom – and I was a Great Books major!

OK, I’ll get off my soap box now.
