One of the nominations announced yesterday for the Golden Globes may have slipped by most folks but I always pay attention when the name Jennifer Love Hewitt flashes across my screen.
Well in the under appreciated category of “Best Performance By An Actress In A Mini-Series Or Motion Picture Made For Television” Hewitt has received a nomination for her performance in the Lifetime Original Movie “The Client List.” She portrays Samantha Horton, a wife and mother in a tight spot that takes on a position as a massage therapist. Her character quickly realizes that the other “therapists” are actually prostitutes who perform their “talents” on prominent members of the community. Horton begins a career in the world’s oldest profession but to cope she fires up a cocaine addiction that she inevitably gets busted and arrested for. In order to reduce the sentence she turns witness for the cops and blows the whistle on many of the beaus that sought the services of herself and her co-workers.
I ran a previous post featuring the most important part of all this which is of course the fact that Jennifer was going to be rocking some hot lingerie while playing a prostitute! All I had at the time was a video preview to go by but when I came across the following image it has become patently clear to me that Jennifer should win!
Someone at Lifetime knew how to set up a movie for success and now J.L.H.’s “golden globes” have received a coveted Golden Globe nomination. Here’s a list of the nominees as announced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Hayley Atwell – “Pillars of the Earth”
Claire Danes – “Temple Grandin”
Judi Dench – “Return to Cranford”
Romola Garai – “Emma”
Jennifer Love Hewitt – “The Client List”
Hard to crack jokes about the category when it features acting heavyweights like Dame Judi Dench, Hayley Atwell and Claire Danes! Good luck to Jennifer and may we suggest that she dress “in character” for the awards ceremony to emphasize her dedication to the role and her craft.
Here is a gallery of the rest of the promo shots of Hewitt for “The Client List” if you think you can stand it. H-O-T!
