After lots of speculation and rumors actress Eva Longoria Parker and NBA basketball star Tony Parker officially filed for divorce Wednesday ending one of celebridom’s most storybook romances and ruining the chances of one of Earth’s most beautiful babies ever being born.
According to People the documents were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by Eva and it cites the standard “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. A mild surprise is that she checked off the box for “Spousal support payable to:” and then selected “petitioner,” meaning herself. Hmmmmm!
TMZ reports that the couple “signed a prenup on June 21, 2007 and it was amended in June, 2009.”
Also of interest to some Eva Longoria Parker fans is that they will be able to revert back to being just Eva Longoria fans as she included in the documents that she will be reverting to her maiden name of Eva Jacqueline Longoria. (CLICK HERE to download a PDF of the court filings from TMZ)
UPDATE – Eva Longoria Parker has confirmed another rumor that has been circulating for some time, her husband Tony Parker cheated on her! Not once, but twice! From Extra:
“Extra” confirmed the actress found hundreds of text messages from another woman on Parker’s phone, who turned out to be the wife of one of the NBA player’s teammates.
There were also allegations Longoria’s estranged husband also cheated on her earlier in the marriage with yet another woman, with whom he kept in touch via Facebook, sources say.
“Eva wants everyone to know, she’s devastated by the rumors of Tony’s infidelity. She loved her husband and is heartbroken about their split,” said good friend, Mario Lopez. “But she’s strong.”
The site says Eva has canceled her scheduled November 21 appearance at the American Music Awards and plans to spend Thanksgiving with friends.
Eva tweeted confirmation of the split today, writing “It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce. We love each other deeply and pray for each other’s happiness.”

Tony Parker and Eva Longoria married on July 7, 2007 in an elaborate ceremony at Chateau of Vaux le Vicomte, a 17th Century castle just outside of Paris.
