Sister Wives bombshell: Janelle divorced Meri’s brother to later marry Kody!

Sister Wives Meri Kody and Janelle Brown

Sister Wives’ Janelle divorced Meri’s brother to later marry Meri’s husband!

The Brown family from TLC have stated that the purpose of making their polygamist lifestyle public was to show that they were very much like other American families with just that one little “more moms” difference.  Well the latest bombshell dropped by Star is going to go a long way in setting back any positive vibes that the Browns provided via the show.

Star Magazine has come out with an incredible piece of family history on the Browns that they conveniently forgot to mention during the taping of the show.  Kody Brown’s second wife Janelle was married to his first wife Meri’s brother and divorced him to later wed Kody!

The magazine is directly citing a marriage certificate that shows that Janelle legally wed Adam Barber in Salt Lake City in December of 1988. They divorced in 1990, just three years before Janelle and Kody wed in a nontraditional commitment ceremony.  Kody is only legally married to his first wife Meri.

The family is currently under investigation for bigamy in Utah but it is considered highly unlikely that law enforcement will pursue any legal action.

This sensational bit of information isn’t going to assist the Browns with their goal to make plural marriage a more socially acceptable lifestyle choice.  Janelle leaving Meri’s brother and then later becoming Kody’s second wife sounds just like a plot line out of HBO’s Big Love.  Let me word it this way; Kody Brown is married to his ex-sister-in-law.  Or I could word it this way; Meri shares a man with her brother’s ex-wife.  Anyway you say it, this certainly comes off as far from the norm.

Does this most recent bit of information change your opinion about the Browns or does it just confirm previously held reservations about their plural marriage lifestyle?

I can not belileve these people…. I have 5 sisters and I would be so grossed out to even think about my brother in laws this way. The Browns are some pretty gross people. I have been married to my Husband for 21 years and we have been together for 28 years . I like to know that every day of the week my Husband is going to be sleeping in our bed and not down the hall with his 2nd, 3rd and 4th wife . It is just so WRONG in every way. This Kody guy is just so gross and ugly. I feel very sorry for all his daughters and what they are having to go thur and to look forward to.He should be put in jail for a very long time……………..

Actually, these Mormon fundamentulist just follow the revelation and command Joseph Smith Jr, the Mormon aka LDS founder received from Jesus as he claimed (after he got caught by his wife with their 15 year-old maid. Jesus threatened her with damnation should she disagree and it’s still canon at the official Mormon/LDS church and can be read at their website (Doctrine and Covenants 132) It was temporarily ceased and subject to prosecution in Utah to gain statehood, but believed to continue at some point to continue, Definatedly in he hereafter. So the AG has a dillema, being Mormon himself. Here is a LDS member’s website about some of the Mormon prophet’s wives. Some as young as 14, a number already married to other Mormons.

Since that command states the only way to to get to heaven and become gods is to practice plural marriage, polygamists take his serious. So it’s not exactly a free choce so much as it is motivated by fear and religious coercion. God help these brainwashed people.

After looking around on lds.org it is very obvious that mainstream Mormons do not practice polygamy now nor do they hope to practice it in the future. While it remains a part of their history, it is so difficult to get to the facts about it, as many historical writings were done by enemies to the church who feared political uprising of the early group.

That aside, this show is just sick. These women have no sense of self. They are needy and compromising, and Kody is a sicko getting away with a lifestyle to feed his disgusting sex needs and pay for his new sports car. TLC still remains to be the Loser Channel and doesn’t seem to be gaining ethics any time soon.

I love the Brown family. I especially like the viewpoint of the tv show from the women’s view, clearly showing that this is a family run and ruled by women w/ Kody just their shared darling doll they pass from one to the other on a schedule they have agreed to. I think a great many modern women might take to this lifestyle. I for one would agree in a minute if I were permitted a next-door separate dwelling for me and any children I might have w/ the husband spending the night w/ me only a few nights a week and being w/ his other wives the other nights. Less is more in many instances. Surely many women would admit to wanting less husband and more time to themselves. I wish the Brown family nothing but success and happiness.

This isn’t exactly like marrying a sister-in-law. Basically, Kody married his wife’s brother’s ex-wife. Tbe woman is not related by blood to his first wife at all, so he is not marrying “sisters by blood”. Nice way to sensationalize a tiny piece of news.
