Adding even more to the carnival atmosphere surrounding Amy Winehouse, it seems the human implosion has got a new love – cocaine-laced cotton candy. (For our European readers, that is cocaine-laced candyfloss)

According to a News of the World source, the idea was a joke suggestion made to Winehouse by friend and Babyshambles guitarist Mik Whitnall after Amy’s purchase of a £700 cotton candy machine. The source goes on to say, “He and some pals sprinkled a wrap of coke into the mixture and Amy started eating it before she realised what they’d done. She now thinks it’s a hoot to do the same.”

The source had no explanation for why Winehouse bought the machine in the first place, but we theorize it was part of a bad plan to sneak a file into her imprisoned husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
