The Amazing Race has cast former Miss Oregon Brook Roberts

Brook Roberts former Miss Oregon

Apparently CBS liked what last season’s beauty pageant contestant Caite Upton brought to the show because they have cast three separate state Miss USA pageant queens for season 17 of The Amazing Race.  The lovely woman you see above is former Miss Oregon Brook Roberts.  She has moved on since her beauty pageant days and is now a popular home shopping host. Lets see what else I could find out about the 27-year-old blond bombshell from San Diego who will be teamed up with fellow home shopping personality Claire Champlin.

After doing a little sleuthing I was able to find a few videos of Brook doing her sales thing so I thought I would hand pick two of the best for you to check out.

The first is from what appears to be the final taping of a shopping show called GemsTV and this clip is a wild one!  You’ve got white folks doing the ever-popular prom dances “the sprinkler” and “milking the cow” but towards the end (around the 6:40 mark) Brook, who is identified as the first ever host on GemsTV, comes out to play the final game to air on the show.  She gets a little emo and sheds some of those patented beauty queen tears!

And here is Brook hosting a demo for a product called Fretlight by Optek Music Systems which is a training system to help axe-wannabees learn the guitar:

Roberts currently works as a host for JTV (Jewelry Television). Via her bio page from JTV it says the following about the energetic lady with a knack for TV sales:

“Brook started her career in home shopping at GemsTV in Reno, NV and has been a jewelry host for over three and a half years. Prior to GemsTV, she worked as a celebrity host for Las Vegas Television Network, as well as a news anchor for a CBS affiliate. Brook is happy to join the Jewelry Television team and to work with jewelry once more. She loves Jewelry Television because “it’s one of the rare places that exclusively provides jewelry and gemstones. JTV is a good fit for me because it values individuals and the team treats its employees with respect. It also has a friendly comfort that you don’t find in many work environments. The minute I walked into the building I felt at home.”

Here is the bio and introductory video for Brook and her partner Claire Champlin from the official page for The Amazing Race courtesy of CBS.

Lifelong to do list: Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and take over for Kelly Ripa when she’s ready to retire

What scares you most about traveling? Disease! I’m so scared of getting an incurable disease.

If I could switch places with someone: Kelly Ripa or Giuliana Rancic from E! News

What are you passionate about? I’m passionate about anything that involves traveling, gemstones and family. Ive been to mines all over the world and I know the chemical makeup of just about every gemstone on the planet! I’m certified from both the Gemological Institute of America and The Diamond Council of America.

What would you do if you won the million dollars? If we win the million dollars I would send my little sister to college and buy a house in Malibu.

People would be surprised to learn: Most people find my job intriguing. I’m a jewelry home shopping host.

Favorite place you have ever visited: My favorite place in the world is Bali, Indonesia. The island is crammed with history, art, spirituality and enchanting people.

Biggest challenge you and your teammate will face on the Race together: It will be a challenge not to laugh our way out of any obstacle. Claire and I both have a wicked sense of humor and every time we face adversity we break out in fits of laughter and jokes. We are here to win and want to have a good time doing it.

What do you hope to accomplish by running the Race (other then winning one million bucks)? It would be an experience that would bond us together for life. I think everyone out there wants to develop stronger and deeper bonds with their best friend.

Pet peeve about your teammate: My pet peeve about Claire is that she is really bossy and gets easily offended when I don’t listen to her advice.
