It’s a “Darkness” post!
Chappelle’s Show vet Charlie Murphy was in attendance and flashing his whites at the Hollywood Premiere of Lottery Ticket Thursday night!
The narrator of Rick James: True Hollywood Story (perhaps the funniest skit seen on television in the last 20 years) reprises his Charlie Murphy persona for the film, which also stars Bow Wow, Brandon T. Jackson and Naturi Naughton and opened nationwide today.

For those not in the know, Charles Q. Murphy is comedian Eddie Murphy’s older brother whose acting career was launched by his appearances on Chappelle’s Show chronicling his time as a part of his brother’s entourage in a series of narratives that included the afore-mentioned Rick James story as well as another just-as-funny “retelling” of the first time he met Prince.
Charles brought two of his four children to the premiere, but noticeably absent was Charles’ wife Tisha Taylor, who died after a two-year struggle with cancer in December of 2009. Here’s Charlie with his son and daughter:
Seeing these photos makes the premiere seem hilarious – as though Charlie Murphy is narrating the whole thing! I can already hear Bow Wow saying, “Cocaine is a helluva drug!”
Just in case you have no idea what I’m talking about or just want to relive some hilarity genius, here is Rick James: True Hollywood Stroy from Chappelle’s Show in two parts:
And then more Charlie Murphy…
