Playboy releases Top-10 Party Schools list

Wake Forest v Texas

Set up those curbside couches.  Get those kegerators flowing.  There are bastions of higher learning and then there are the Colleges and Universities you actually want to attend.  Playboy (SFW) has released their annual best of list for party schools in America.  It looks like they not only kick butt on the football field, but the University of Texas in Austin comes in at number one.  Hook em’ Horns.

Rounding out the list of schools are the following:

1.  University of Texas at Austin

2.  West Virginia University

3.  University of Wisconsin-Madison

4.  University of Miami

5.  East Carolina University

6.  Arizona State University

7.  Rollins College

8.  University of California-Santa Barbara

9.  Plymouth State University

10.  University of Iowa

Peppered in with your usual huge football program driven State Universities are two eye opening selections; Rollins College and Plymouth State University.

For Rollins College Playboy states:

“It’s not the size of a school, it’s the commotion its students cause when they collectively rage. Rollins, in Winter Park, Florida, is the hardest-partying small school (1,785 undergrads) in the country. Yes, it feels like a high school but one that convenes in the clubs every weekend.”

I live in Florida and have never heard of Rollins College.  The “Tars” (no really that’s their mascot) kick it in Winter Park Florida, a suburb of Orlando.  I dug up this image of what is apparently your average week-night around Rollins.

For Plymouth State Playboy states:

“It’s been more than 20 years since PSU made our list, but this New Hampshire institution of higher learning is back. Four things students dig are skiing, skiing, studying and smoking pot on the lake. Welcome back to the party.”

It’s like Old Hampshire but New.  The Panthers from Plymouth rock!  They are located in Plymouth, New Hampshire and are part of the State University system.  They keep it warm up north and are highly committed to their “green” initiatives.

In fairness Playboy also had to include the bad with the good singling out, or should I say doubling out, two schools as the worst.  It was a tie between Brigham Young University and Oral Roberts.  Sorry guys.
