As the May 24 Premiere of The Bachelorette Season 6 draws closer more information is beginning to surface on the eligible bachelors that will be competing for the hand and heart of Ali Fedowtowsky! This is the second installment of “The Bachelorette Files” in which we profile the contestants we know about with photos and whatever background info sleuths from around the web have been able to dig up.
The first contestant we tackled was Kirk DeWindt of Madison, Wisconsin (CLICK HERE to see his profile) and next up hunky country musician Ty Brown, originally from Mississippi but currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee!
Ty Brown (Full name: Matthew Tyler Brown) is a tall and muscular orthopedic device salesman currently living in Nashville who is pursuing a second career as a country musician. Originally from West Point, Mississippi, Ty went on to graduate from Mississippi State University in 2001 with a major in Biology and minor in Marketing. It appears as though he lived in Birmingham for a while before relocating to Nashville and marrying singer/songwriter Lindsey Grant from Florence, South Carolina.
Ty and Lindsey were married on October 6, 2007 and I am assuming they have since divorced, but there is little to no information on their separation. Ty’s MySpace page was last accessed in July of 2009 and his status still says “married,” but I’m not sure how much can be read into that. I’m currently researching Lindsey and the marriage and should have a separate post up soon. When I do, I will include a link HERE. (UPDATED! Ty’s friends and family have started “The Official Ty Brown Bachelorette Fan Club” on Facebook with lots of photos and the following Intro to Ty:
Yep, that’s right! Nashville’s own Ty Brown is on the next ABC’s Bachelorette! He sacrificed a lot of things to go on the show including time away from his friends, family, his dog Paxton, and possibly losing his job. Regardless of how crazy we think he is to take this chance, let’s all show some love and support for our good buddy Ty and wish him well.
TY’s BIO: Ty Brown is originally from Booneville Mississippi and currently resides in Nashville Tennessee. Ty is very close with his family and makes frequent trips to Booneville to see his parents and twin brothers Chad and Chase. Ty played football for Booneville High School and has a B.S. in Marketing from Mississippi State University. Ty’s hobbies include listening to music, attending concerts, two steppin’, skiing, hunting, riding four-wheelers, hanging with his yellow Labrador Retriever best friend, Paxton, and of course, singin’ and strummin’ on his six string. Ty’s passion has always been in entertainment. He has performed on stage at various music festivals and venues in and around Tennessee including playing at the world famous Tootsies on Broadway in dowtown Nashville. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of being around Ty, you know that he loves to crack a joke to make you laugh and is rarely seen without a smile on his face. Ty is the type of guy that would take his shirt off his back for you. He’s a loyal friend, an honest and hard worker, and a loving son and brother.

There doesn’t appear to be any samples of Ty’s singing or videos of him performing online, although he did appear briefly in Kellie Pickler’s “Red High Heels” music video! (CLICK HERE to see a still and watch Ty’s part in slow motion.) If anyone has any samples let me know and I’ll be happy to add them to the post!

I found out today that someone I work with knows Ty! Wow, he’s really popular! Anyway, they said that he quit a very very good job to be on the show. He did move to Nashville to pursue a singing career. That doesn’t mean he only came on the show for exposure. I’m sure it was A reason but he has been married before and is looking for a lasting relationship. I’ll let you know if he comes home anytime soon. Still not home as of today
SPOILER ALERT – According to numerous sources, a handful of blurry photographs and the fact that Ty hasn’t been seen at his home or online since the show began taping it appears as though he may be in the Top Three or Four finalists! People are already buzzing that Ty Brown may be in line to become the next Bachelor!
