After a five-month courtship and just a shade over a year of marriage, Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo have announced that they got right down to it and produced a child. The couple broke the news on their official site, with a message that included a heavily watermarked image of the two of them holding a wooden sign emblazoned with “We’re expecting.”

As for the announcement itself, here’s the text:

The past fourteen months have been the best of our lives as we have had the wonderful privilege of beginning our journey through life together in marriage. We both looked forward to the joys of marriage but neither one of us fully understood just how amazing the start of this journey would be. Truly, the Lord’s mercies are new every morning! Now, the journey has taken an exciting turn: we are expecting our first child! We are praising God for this beautiful gift and ask that you join us in praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy.

Psalm 139:13-14
13 For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.

Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo met in late 2015, and Jeremy says he “expressed his interest to get to know Jinger better” to Jim Bob Duggar on December 11th of that year. The two announced they were courting in June of 2016, announced their engagement in July, and were married on November 5th of the same year. So, while Jinger and Jeremy have actually been together for over two years, they appear to count the beginning of their relationship from the first time they experienced “the joys of marriage” — which, in all honesty, is a pretty solid euphemism.

Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s baby will be the third addition to the Duggar ranks this year: Joy-Anna Duggar and Kendra Caldwell are also expecting children in 2018.

As for those family congratulations, Derick Dillard somehow managed to make even math a little weird…

…while Jessa Seewald went the gender route…

…and Amy King kept things simple:
