90 DAY FIANCE Mohamed Jbali posts green card denial letter – will he be deported?

Mohamed Jbali immigration update - was his permanent green card denied?

90 Day Fiance star Mohamed Jbali may soon be headed back to Tunisia! The reality star is currently going through the process of removing the conditions from his two-year green card obtained via the K-1 visa process and his marriage to Danielle, but it appears that things are not going well as he recently posted a photo of a green card denial letter from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Mohamed posted the photo (in the background above, reassembled below) and captioned it by writing “? sometimes the law does not make any sense because the person who made it never been in that situation ?” The letter in the photo clearly indicates a denial, but the reasons for the denial have been cropped out.

After spending way too much time looking into this, I’ve come to the conclusion that this letter is actually denying Mohamed a replacement card and not a denial of his permanent green card. Mohamed reportedly lost his green card after someone broke into his vehicle, and the opening paragraph clearly mentions an “Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card.”

Later in the letter it references the I-751 form, which is the application to remove conditions from a two-year green card. My educated guess is that Mohamed was denied a replacement green card because the deadline has passed on his two-year green card renewal and they are still waiting to find out if his ten-year non-conditional application will be approved. Meanwhile, Mohamed is left without a physical green card and no way to replace it — which would certainly seem to explain his frustrated photo caption.

So what’s holding up Mohamed’s green card renewal process? As we reported in October, Mohamed’s renewal was put in jeopardy after he claimed the US Postal Service lost his application paperwork, resulting in it not arriving before the deadline.

Mohamed did an Instagram Live session earlier today, but unfortunately I missed it. I assume he addressed the denial letter, and I will try to update if any more information surfaces from that session or additional posts from Mohamed. (There are some comments from people who did watch the live session, and they make it sound as though Mohamed is frustrated because he has to jump through a lot of hoops — which seems to further indicate this was just a replacement card denial.)

Meanwhile, I’ve reassembled the letter and return address in easier-to-read form for all you 90 Day Fiance sleuths out there:

Mohamed Jbali permanent green card denied?

In case you were curious, the bar code is easily scanned and the result is AAGAA01614898.

UPDATE – In Touch later did an article and they got a quote from Mohamed’s Instagram Live session which confirms my speculation:

“They think that I’m going to get deported but that’s not the case,” he said. “Friends know someone broke into my car last year and stole my wallet with everything inside, my green card inside. I applied for the replacement green card and to get a new card, it takes some time. In the meantime, while waiting for the replacement card, the old one expired and because of that, they denied the application for sending the replacement green card — not to issue one in the first place.”
