Farrah Abraham is officially no longer a Texan as the reality star sold her home outside Austin for just over half a million dollars. The house is the one featured on Teen Mom OG; it’s perhaps most famous for playing host to a porta potty in the driveway whenever the film crew was around.
The exact selling price of the property is not known, but it was listed for $524,999, and TMZ is reporting that it was in escrow for for $520k. That price is way below Farrah’s asking price of $780,000 back when she first listed the home in 2014.
Farrah purchased the property, which was the model home for her high-end development, back in late 2013 — just before the filming of her “Being Farrah” special. The house came partly furnished, which would explain some of the real estate advertising seen on the wall during “Being Farrah.”
This is the second property Farrah has sold this year, after she unloaded her Hollywood Hills home back in July — reportedly for $860,000. That should mean that Farrah has plenty of “spendin’ money” in case her recent falling out with MTV results in no more Teen Mom OG paychecks for future seasons.
On a personal note, as a fellow Austinite(ish), I am saddened to hear the news that Farrah is no longer officially one of us. Regardless of what you may think of her, Farrah CERTAINLY contributed to the “Keep Austin Weird” mantra. We are told that she will keep her businesses (Froco frozen yogurt, Furnished By Farrah, and The Sophia Laurent Children’s Boutique), so she will still have reason to visit often. But it’s not the same.
That being said, congrats to Farrah on selling the house! I hope the buyer fully appreciates that he or she is purchasing a piece of pop culture history. (We’re talking about the former home of Starburst the miniature horse yo!)
