Scott Disick hospitalized on involuntary psyche hold

Scott Disick 5150 psychiatric hold

The Los Angeles County Fire Department confirms that they transported Scott Disick to a hospital last month after he was placed on an involuntary 5150 psychiatric hold.

From The Blast:

The Blast has confirmed authorities including the LA County Fire Department responded to Disick’s Hidden Hills home at 4:54 PM on August 18. Fire tells us L.A. County Sheriffs also responded to assist.

Law enforcement sources tell us the sheriffs were called because at the time Disick was being uncooperative. By the time cops arrived on scene, he had calmed down and was complying with officials.

The Blast’s report was later confirmed by Entertainment Tonight. “A spokesperson for the LACFD tells ET that on Aug. 18 at 5:03 p.m., they arrived to Disick’s residence after a call came in for a possible 5150 psychiatric hold on a male at the house. The responders, who noted that the man was non-violent when they arrived at the residence, then transported him to a local hospital.”

Scott was taken to the emergency room at West Hills Hospital where he was held under the Section 5150 provision. Here is more information on that provision from Wikipedia:

Section 5150 is a section of the California Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC) (in particular, the Lanterman–Petris–Short Act or “LPS”) which authorizes a qualified officer or clinician to involuntarily confine a person suspected to have a mental disorder that makes them a danger to themselves, a danger to others, and/or gravely disabled. A qualified officer, which includes any California peace officer, as well as any specifically-designated county clinician, can request the confinement after signing a written declaration stating the psychiatric diagnosis that the diagnosing medical professional believes to be the cause or reason why they believe the patient to be “a danger to themselves or others” or the psychiatric disorder that has rendered the patient incapable of making their own medical treatment decisions.

The Blast reports that Scott got a private room at the hospital and also had a security guard posted outside his door. Kourtney Kardashian reportedly visited Scott while he was there. It’s unclear if any of Scott’s hospitalization was filmed for Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Also unknown is how Scott’s hospitalization escaped the ever-watchful eye of the Kardashianati at TMZ.

So far there has been no official response from Scott Disick or his rep. Scott is obviously a troubled man, and we wish him the best in somehow getting control of his life.
