The Misfit Garage Season 5 theme is fame and fortune. Per the show’s official press release, the guys at Fired Up Garage will accept nothing less than “prov[ing] themselves as the #1 shop in the world for custom street rods,” and have set up what may be their most ambitious season to date in order to do it.
Fans should expect a continued clash of egos between John Klump–recently promoted to full partner–and the rest of the Misfit Garage cast, while Thomas’ desire to “increase the cash flow through quick flips” is certain to turn a few heads and get more than a few eyes rolling. In fact, the whole crew’s appetite for quick flips and elaborate schemes sets up one of the first jobs (and conflicts) of the new season: the rest of the Fired Up guys buy back the 1952 Willys Jeep that Thomas just finished up and sold off.
Here’s a Misfit Garage Season 5 sneak peek, featuring Thomas blowing a gasket or two over the aforementioned “bad business deal,” courtesy of Hidden Remote:
In fairness to the rest of the guys, turning the jeep into “an off-road machine” would be pretty cool, and definitely make for some great footage later in the episode (if not throughout the whole rest of the season). But buying it back for more than what Thomas paid for it in the first place was maybe not the best, most cost-effective way to ensure reality TV infamy…
And here’s a taste of what more to expect from the new season–including a flirtation with Guinness Book glory?!
The misfits at Fired Up Garage are back in hopes of turning their shop into a money-making machine, but with their usual antics, things don’t always go as planned. This season brings bigger builds, celebrity guests and a Guinness World Records® attempt, but will it be enough to make the garage a household name?
