Farrah Abraham thinks mom Debra Danielsen has Asperger’s

Farrah Abraham has diagnosed her mother Debra Danielsen with Asperger syndrome.

The Teen Mom star appeared on the This Life Podcast with Dr. Drew and Bob Forrest and had some interesting insights into why her well documented relationship with her mother has been so troubled and difficult.

Farrah’s often given a hard time for her questionable quotables but she’s often pretty dang articulate here as she chatted up some heavy topics with Drew and Bob. After one statement from Abraham about the disservice millennial parents do in trying to be their kids’ best friends Drew replies, “Farrah you say some of the most profound stuff sometimes and I’m sorry that a lot of it doesn’t get on TV.”

Then Dr. Drew addressed his previous beef with Farrah before he explained his concern for Debra.

Here’s the back and forth:

Dr. Drew: I’m going to say something now that is a boundary issue and we can pull it out of this show if you want. I was just looking at your mom and have gotten to know her over the years too and I’m just worried there’s something psychiatrically going on there that’s not being properly managed. Am I on to something?

Farrah: I guess she dates a doctor so there that goes.

Dr. Drew: I’m thinking there’s something really there that you’ve been pounding against your whole life and your mom isn’t aware it’s there and it’s of a psychiatric nature… Not psychological but more like biological and you’re wanting something from her that she just can’t do because of this biology. Am I on to something here?

Farrah: That is what it is. That’s what I know now and I’m done with conversations and I’m done with fighting the uphill battle… I’ve researched so much about my mother that I think she has Asperger’s and has some other things.

Via Autism SpeaksAsperger syndrome was generally considered to be on the “high functioning” end of the spectrum. Affected children and adults have difficulty with social interactions and exhibit a restricted range of interests and/or repetitive behaviors. Motor development may be delayed, leading to clumsiness or uncoordinated motor movements. Compared with those affected by other forms of ASD, however, those with Asperger syndrome do not have significant delays or difficulties in language or cognitive development. Some even demonstrate precocious vocabulary – often in a highly specialized field of interest.

Dr. Drew: What do you think besides Apserger’s? Because I agree with you.

Farrah: I forgot the other stuff…

Dr. Drew: I’m qualifying this. I’m not sitting in assessment of your mom. I’m not her doctor but I’ve been concerned there’s something on the schizoaffective spectrum.

Farrah follows up by asking what schizoaffective is and Dr. Drew gives a brief definition.

Via NAMISchizoaffective disorder is a chronic mental health condition characterized primarily by symptoms of schizophrenia, such as hallucinations or delusions, and symptoms of a mood disorder, such as mania and depression.

For you longtime fans of the show out there, do y’all think they’re on to something as far as DebzOG is concerned?

Sit down ferret. Sit down, in front of a mirror and realize that you are in fact psycho and need to stop pointing fingers.

  • Nedly Mandingo IV

We all know Deb’s pretty wacky and seems to be going through a midlife crisis. But I would like to know what Farrah thinks of her own condition. I find it interesting that Farrah is giving her arm chair assessment of her mother when it’s fairly obvious that Farrah is the one with the real mental issues.

    • kate

I watched her on couples therapy just to see Dr. Jenn call Farrah out and offer up a diagnosis, but she never did. Farrah had Jenn eating out of her hand. She seems to do it with Dr. Drew too. WTF is up with that.

  • Jennifer Jameson

DUH!!! I’ve been saying Debra is crazy for a LONG time. When she rolled out her “rap star” personality, it clinched it! I think she has borderline and bipolar disorder.

    • Guest

      I agree.

    • DZBabe

I dont think its bpd. I have bpd and i dont act like her

    • kiki

I have both bipolar and BPD and definitely don’t act like her. But mania could be part of it which happens in more than just bipolar

  • DoogieHowser

Oooh goodie! Let’s list Farrah’ s cocktail of mental disorders next. I’ll go first. Narcissistic Personality Disorder

    • #COVFEFE

Schizophrenia. Those voices are constantly telling her that she’s right, beautiful, and smarter than everyone else ??

  • pmo

  • TrashTV

Way to go Dr Drew. When Farrah admits there is something going on with her mom, she can finally be guided towards taking a hard look at herself. Mind you, he uses the word biological. Yeah, score for team Sophia!

And Farrah is a backdoor w***e!

  • Guest

Schizoaffective disorder must be genetic ’cause Farrah is just as crazy as Debra.

  • Chu ♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸♥

Does she even know what Asperger’s is? o_O

    • ChelseaHouskasEyebrows

She probably got the definition the same place she got the pedophile definition.

  • Boooo

Really? You’re gonna quote Autism Speaks, one of the WORST organizations for people with autism?

  • theStevieJBus

Dr. Drew needs to be locked up. All he is doing is giving Farrah amo to say she is ok and her mom as all the issues. In my opinion whatever is going on with Deborah is going on with Farrah but 100x worse.

  • ScrappieONE

Sounds more like their describing Farrah….

  • barbinop

I’ve always thought that Debra has some psych issues and needs,to consult with a professional whose not interested in 10 minutes of fame because he’s her Dr.. She’s a loose cannon

  • Pattipandi

Umm guys, maybe Deb just swallows a cocktail of pills everyday whic explains her erratic, monotone, dead behind the eyes, slurring behavior. Did we see her debut “rap” video? Is there a coincidence she’s marrying a doctor? WHO CAN PRESCRIBE PILLS. I think not.
