Walking Dead star suggests body shamers ‘grow the f*** up’

An actress whose character was the central focus of the most recent episode of The Walking Dead reacted to social media comments about her weight with a lengthy Instagram post.

Alanna Masterson took center stage in the episode “Swear”on Sunday night as viewers of the most watched drama on cable caught up with her character Tara. Not everyone was kind apparently, as the 28-year-old called out “trolls” and “body shamers” who felt it necessary to comment on her weight by requesting that they “grow the f*** up.”

She captioned an adorable photo of her 1-year-old daughter:

Dear Instagram trolls, body shamers, and the men and woman who think it’s ok to comment on my weight: I hope that you don’t have children. And if you do, I hope you teach them about kindness and acceptance. I hope they learn that it isn’t ok to make fun of people or call people names. I hope one day YOU learn what it takes to be a parent. A kind, selfless parent. A working parent. A parent that puts themselves in someone else’s shoes. Maybe you can’t get it through your thick f***ing skull, but nursing a baby for a year (and pumping in a van between takes, in the dead of summer in Georgia) is a lot of work, determination, and scheduling. So before you decide to make a comment about my chest being “too large” or how “fat” I’ve become, just know that this little girl got the best start to life.

I wouldn’t have changed it for a second. I would’ve gladly continued to eat enough calories to produce milk for her little bones to grow. Also, grow the f*** up. Your mother should be ashamed for raising such a judgmental bully. I’m sure she knows how “courageous” you must be for trolling and hiding behind your Iphone and computers. P.s. I would LOVE to see any man or woman give birth to a baby, nurse the baby, and then work 17 hour days and NAIL their own stunts. P.s.s. Be kind to each other. We need it now more than ever.

Obviously those trolls haven’t seen Amy Schumer or Lena Dunham!!! Those girls are fat!!!! At least this chick is half-way decent looking! I don’t even watch TWD, but still. Go troll on Amy & Lenas page!

    • cali

Right?! And this girl just had a baby! I watch TWD and she doesn’t even look fat so idk what people online are fat shaming her about.

    • Nicole

Great way to ignore her whole message

    • kate

lol. okay? Don’t body shame this girl, that’s wrong! go body shame these FAT girls! You don’t see how dumb this statement is?? How about don’t body shame anyone. Who cares what Amy Schumer or Lena Dunham weigh? As long as they’re not calling out other people as fat, then who cares?!

      • YourMom

Yeah, I see it. I just dont care. Those other two just suck at life in general. No talent, not funny a$$ wipes. Lol

I think you kind of missed the point. Sure, Alana had a baby and is working hard at life. But the point she was trying to make is that it’s never okay to body shame. Under any circumstances.

      • YourMom

Nah. I got her point. And I realize I’m body shaming those other 2 “stars”, but idc. I loathe them just that much.

        • ren24

My original reply mentioned something about it not being okay to body shame even if the people act like drunken buffoons but I deleted that last part because I felt like it kind of went against the intent of the message. lol

I find her very beautiful♡ And that baby ??

I might give a shit but how can anyone take what she says with any more than a grain of salt when she’s a scientolgist.
