VIDEO Mob Wives’ Drita D’Avanzo reveals 15-pound weight gain, is ‘happy’ the show is over

Tough girl Drita D’Avanzo has moved on with her life post-Mob Wives. The feisty redhead made a public appearance at an event last week and gave fans an update on her life since her hit VH1 reality TV show ended earlier this year. The reality star dished about the peacefulness of living drama-free, and even revealed how the lack of stress has affected her weight.

“I let go of Mob Wives,” D’Avanzo told Maximo TV during an on-camera interview. “I don’t deal with any mob wives, so it’s wonderful. I’m working on a spinoff which I’m happy about, my book is almost ready to go and everything’s great. I’m just happy, very positive, everything is positive.”

Drita’s book was part of her storyline during season 6 of Mob Wives, which would end up being the last season of the hit VH1 show that documented the lives of Staten Island women who were married or related to members of the mafia. Drita’s husband, convicted felon Lee D’Avanzo, was very against about his wife’s book because he was worried that she would reveal secrets of his criminal past, according to VH1. But Lee doesn’t have to worry, because Drita said her book has a different focus.

“Well, it was really focused on my life story,” Drita said. “I kinda started it as my life story but kinda telling the real story about what it’s like to be on reality TV and the truth behind Mob Wives. And I just think over the years of the constant tweets and people asking questions, there’s going to be so many answers.”

Since the show went off the air, Drita has kept busy with her cosmetic and apparel line Lady Boss, and she said she’s happy she started her business while she was still on the show since it’s now a back up plan for her once the show went off the air. And she answered honestly when she said that she struggled with running her own business and her household—which includes her gangster husband Lee and their two daughters Aleeya and Gizelle. But none of that compares to the stress she felt on the show.

“As soon as Mob Wives was over, I was at peace instantly,” Drita continued. “I gained like, 15 pounds. It is happy weight, I was very stressed on that show. I wasn’t eating, I wasn’t sleeping, I was just all day in my kitchen just thinking about how I wanna rip someone’s head off their body and remove it. And now I don’t gotta do that.”

But even though Drita said she doesn’t hang out with her former Mob Wives co-stars like Renee Graziano, Karen Gravano or Carla Facciolo, she is still friendly with one of the girls—last season’s newcomer Brittany Fogarty. The two cozied up together for a selfie later that night at the event.
