Amy Schumer has revealed that a past boyfriend continued to have sexual intercourse with her after she asked him to stop. She also indicated that her first sexual experiences was “not a good one.”

In a cover interview for the upcoming August issue of Marie Claire, the 35-year-old said:

“My first sexual experience was not a good one. I didn’t think about it until I started reading my journal again. When it happened, I wrote about it almost like a throwaway. It was like, And then I looked down and realized he was inside of me. He was saying, ‘I’m so sorry’ and ‘I can’t believe I did this.'”

The Huffington Post had an extended preview in which they stated directly that this first time was not consensual.

Schumer explained why she doesn’t feel the need to punish this person for what happened, “This was 17 years ago. There are just so many factors… I had another time with a boyfriend where I was saying, ‘No, stop,’ and it was just completely ignored.”

While Schumer didn’t identify herself as a victim in the interview, she did discuss her thoughts on how our society engages in a culture of victim-blaming. “You know, with the rape survivor, it’s not just shaming, it’s fury. It makes people so mad if you’re not a perfect victim,” she said.
