New Fixer Upper episodes promise huge guest stars (and some very small ones)

HGTV Fixer Upper episodes 2

Fans of the HGTV smash hit Fixer Upper don’t have long to wait for to get their next big helping of the Gainses. New Fixer Upper episodes have been filming for weeks, and Fixer Upper Season 4 is expected to air this autumn–if not sooner, given the tremendous success of the show. To whet your appetite, we’ve put together a rundown of all the guest stars you can expect to see when the new Fixer Upper episodes roll out.

For starters, Fixer Upper Season 4 *has* been confirmed by HGTV. Judging by the comments on some of the show’s social media pages, it looks like not every Fixer Upper fan heard the official word of the show’s renewal. HGTV gave the green light during their upfront presentation earlier this year, and Joanna celebrated the news shortly thereafter:

Lest you think all the talk of production is just that, here’s a recent sneak peek of the Season 4 project board, which acclaimed producer Rob Zimmerman shared. It looks like good people of Magnolia are juggling as many projects as ever, if not more!

As far as major guests go, it’s possible that one oft-teased VIP might finally make an appearance on the show. Devoteés of Joanna’s Instagram feed know that former First Lady Laura Bush has stopped by Magnolia Market at least once–and by a job site, as well:

Not to be outdone on the political front, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders also paid the farm a recent visit! It looks like his cameo in Season 4 will be more of the Easter egg variety, however 😉

(Baylor alum and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III also stopped by a Fixer Upper renovation several weeks ago. A social media update feating Griffin and Chip has, unfortunately, been deleted since it was first shared, though you can see a screengrab of it here. Though RG3’s appearance was never officially confirmed, it may be in jeopardy, because former Baylor football coach Art Briles appeared alongside Griffin–and Briles has since been fired for his role in the university’s ongoing sexual assault scandal.)

Speaking of wildlife, Chip has kept up the Fixer Upper tradition of bringing new animals home without warning. We should expect to see not one, not two, and not three, but four brand-new pets this season! At first, the family only let fans know about their two new dogs–by all appearances because they’d forgotten about the pair of kittens they’d also adpoted. The number of animals on the Magnolia homestead changes too quickly for even Joanna Gaines to keep up!

Oh… I forgot to mention there are also two new kittens! Also courtesy of @chippergaines ?? A photo posted by Joanna Stevens Gaines (@joannagaines) on

Finally, the fourth season will possibly feature at least one uninvited guest. (Though not necessarily an unwelcome one.)

HGTV has yet to announce exactly when the new Fixer Upper episodes will premiere. The show’s reruns continue to air in blocks on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
