Yolanda Hadid is hanging up her stilettos.

Hadid, who joined the popular west coast version of Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise during Season 3, announced via Instagram today that she is walking away from the show.

She wrote:

I would have loved a more graceful exit then “Season 6” but sometimes we don’t get to control the ending of the chapters in our life………… I am leaving what’s over without denying its past importance in my life. I believe that every exit is an new entry and with that in mind I say goodbye to my @Bravotv Family as I continue to focus on a my recovery, my children and bring back the privacy within our Home……….. Thank you to all the fans for your love and unwavering support these past 4 years. I am grateful for the housewife experience and all it has thought me. I’am excited about this choice and look forward to the next chapter of my life……………… #RHOBH #TimeToSayGoodbye with #Gratitude @evolutionusa @bravoandy @bravotv #WWHL

The 52-year-old former model was a full-time Housewife for seasons 4,5 and 6. Her struggles with Lyme disease was a major plot line in addition to the blooming modeling careers of her daughters Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid.

Yolanda is set to release a memoir, Believe Me: My Battle with the Invisible Disability of Lyme Disease. Shortly after her announcement Andy Cohen tweeted out his support. “We love you @YolandaHFoster #RHOBH,” he wrote.

TMZ reports that Yolanda was offered the old “friend of the cast” moniker to give her more time to deal with her health issues but she viewed that as a demotion and refused to take on that role.
