Welcome to Mariah’s World, the new eight-part E! reality series documenting the life of Mariah Carey which promises to capture the real Mariah, which lies somewhere “between the diva and the legend.”
Actually, her Mariahness would prefer that we not call it a “reality series” but a documentary series. “I refuse to call it a reality show,” Mariah told The New York Times back in March. “I thought it would be a good opportunity to kind of, like, show my personality and who I am, even though I feel like my real fans have an idea of who I am. A lot of people have misperceptions about this and that.”
“I am not Cinderella,” Mariah declares in the beginning of the clip. “My life has not been a fairy tale!” She adds, “Forget the image, forget the rumors — I owe this to the fans.”
The documentary series is set to premiere later this year and will include Mariah’s preparations for her Sweet Sweet Fantasy as well as her wedding with Australian billionaire James Packer.
