New Louis CK tour: Comedian announces dates for 2016, with more to come

Louis 490

Last week, we learned about a forthcoming Louis CK tour from the man himself, courtesy of his Tonight Show appearance. Today, Louis announced the first of those tour dates in an e-mail to fans, and promised many more shows to come.

“Hello getter of this message,” Louis, keeping to his typical deadpan e-mail style, wrote. “I’m writing to tell you that I’m going on tour, doing standup comedy, all over the country and world for the next year (or so) starting next week. In Baltimore.” (Cue jokes about this being the best thing to happen to Baltimore since The Wire.)

The comedian added that fans should expect a slew of further Louis CK tour dates this coming Monday, the 16th: “We will announce and put on sale the dates for summer,” he said, “and some of the fall.”

As for the material itself, CK wrote that the long layoff between tours–his last proper run came in January of 2015–has resulted in especially strong material: “I’ve been working on this particular standup material for a long time and I’m excited to bring it to you on all these various stages.”
