The Black Ink Crew Dutchess and Donna scene from last week’s episode left casual fans wide-eyed and even die-hard fans abuzz. The show appeared to depict Dutchess and Donna–who, to put it gently, haven’t always been close friends–getting high together and becoming very intimate indeed.
In case you missed it, VH1 has made the scene available for your viewing (ahem) pleasure. Here are Dutchess and Donna having a very wild time indeed, getting the munchies, fondling each other at the drive-through, and then going home together. And if you’d never heard the immortal equivovation “Eatin ain’t cheatin!” before, get ready to have a laugh:
But was it a real scene? According to Dutchess, the implication that she and Donna got together was just the result of some crafty editing room fakery. She claimed that her moans of ecstasy were actually the spliced-in sounds of pregnancy scare vomiting from earlier in the show’s run:
You’ll notice that Dutchess didn’t say she and Donna never hooked up, though. Donna, meanwhile, embraced the controversy head on:
