Why we should all be like Phuc Dat Bich

Phuc Dat Bich

Phuc Dat Bich, an Australian man whose Facebook post about how Facebook kept deleting his account because they did not believe his name was actually Phuc Dat Bich went viral, has now thanked his supporters.

Back in January, Phuc Dat posted the following:

I find it highly irritating the fact that nobody seems to believe me when I say that my full legal name is how you see it. I’ve been accused of using a false and misleading name of which I find very offensive. Is it because I’m Asian? Is it?
Having my fb shut down multiple times and forced to change my name to my “real” name, so just to put it out there. My name.

Yours sincerely,
Phuc Dat Bich

Phuc Dat went as far as to include a photo of his passport in hopes of proving that his name is, indeed, Phuc Dat Bich.

The post went unnoticed until recently, when the phonetic ramifications of Phuc Dat’s name started getting shared–a lot. Even though he was obviously annoyed with Facebook, he took all his newfound fame in stride, and shared as much, in a thank-you note:

When it comes to keeping things in perspective, we should all be like Phuc Dat Bich!
