We reported yesterday that Street Outlaws star Justin “Big Chief” Shearer was hospitalized after a terrifying crash while racing his famous Pontiac named Crow against Street Outlaws co-star Brian “Chucky” Davis. Since the accident, Big Chief has been updating fans on his (and his car’s) condition since the accident on Facebook.

Here is a timeline of updates from Big Chief with some new photos of what is left of his beloved car Crow:

THANK YOU EVERYONE…. I’m pretty beat up right now. Just woke me up for some breathing treatments. Pulmonary contusions (bruised lungs). Crushed my L2 and L3 in my back, broken collarbone, and pretty beat up, but so thankful to be alive right now. They got me on non stop oxygen and another round of cat scans, and X-rays coming up. The surgeon doesn’t believe i will need back operation anymore, but they are going to keep me in the hospital again tonight to keep an eye on the lungs, YES I WILL BE BACK! The GOFUND ME CAMPAIGNS were not created by my people or family… I have no idea about them, please KEEP YOUR MONEY. I will update everyone as i get info from the Doctors! The CAGE and safety equipment saved my life!

Keeping me overnight guys, but here is some of the carnage…the Crow will rise again tho, have no fear! That cage and safety equipment really is the reason I’m here! Thank you for all the messages and support!

November 16 early morning

Sitting in this hospital bed, super bored and can’t sleep looking at pictures of my destroyed crow. I start thinking about every great time I’ve ever had in that car. To a lot of people, driving a car is just the way to a destination. To me, I would pick destinations just for a way to drive my car. This is a terrible picture but I believe it to be around 1995-1996. That’s me on the far right, and flip in the middle. Pretty sure Johnny Holley is on the left side of the pic. We had some amazing times in that car. From learning to drive, going to second base, finding lifelong friends and eventually starting a family……all the way to getting the TV show and starting a shop. That car was my transportation thru life to get to this current destination. Flip is gone, and now The Crow is gone as well. I’m so lucky to have been able to share a great part of my life, with them both.

I am scheduled to be released from the hospital today, and all I want to think about is the road ahead, fueled by all the great times behind me. Does the future have a new Crow in it? What car will it be? What combo? Where am I going to find the money for another top car? One thing is for sure……I ain’t done, and it will be a Pontiac.

Well, I’m still beat and banged up…but the show must go on! We have Jeff Lutz in the studio today for the podcast and it’s gonna be a good one! If you have a funny question or comment about last nights show or just anything else in general, lets hear it!

November 17 afternoon

We had special guest, Jeff Lutz with us in the studio today for the podcast. It’s over an hour long, but luckily you can download it and save it for later if you can’t listen to it all at once. We laugh, cut up, joke, and then tell about one of the worst weeks of my life. Check it out on our website, or on iTunes.

My littlest one wanted to see daddy’s car. I’m standing here looking at it, and just realizing how lucky I am that I can still hold his hand and walk around the car. So tough to look at still. Breaks my heart.
