Justin Bieber Pray for Paris

Justin Bieber performed a concert on Friday night in L.A. as part of his album launch for Purpose. While thousands of Beliebers were celebrating the return of their leader, people around the world were mourning the loss and devastation brought about by the attacks in Paris.

Rather than gloss over the tragedy, Justin and his team faced the issue head on when they stopped the concert to bow their heads in prayer.

Justin thanked God for showing his light during the pain and suffering, asked that we remain focused on Him, and prayed for “peace” and “restoration” for families of the victims.

Justin is a Christian, so it’s not inconceivable he would address the situation with prayer. So far, people are commending him for this show of support.

Having said that, I’m sure many people will still use this as an opportunity to criticize Justin–but it’s a catch-22. If he didn’t mention the attacks on Paris, I’m sure he would be chastised for being insensitive.

Justin finished the concert with an appearance by Jaden Smith as well as an emotional breakdown during “I’ll Show You.”

In case you’re wondering, the official world tour for Purpose kicks off in March, and general tickets go on sale on November 20 at 10am.
