Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald returning to TLC with two new specials

Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard TLC Specials

Reports that former 19 Kids and Counting stars Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald were getting their own spinoff are true — mostly. TLC announced today that the two married Duggar daughters will appear in at least two specials about their growing families. The first shows will air within the year.

“What we will be following in these specials is Jessa preparing for her first child and we’ll be watching Jill preparing to make a major move to Central America with her family, which we know is something our audience will be interested in,” TLC Executive Vice President and General Manager Nancy Daniels told the Associated Press. Another anonymous production source confirmed embattled older brother Josh Duggar will not appear in the specials or any future TLC shows.

TLC said production will begin immediately, which is interesting because Jill actually moved to Central America months ago. She, husband Derick Dillard and son Israel Dillard have since returned to the United States for an extended stay, during which time Jill became a certified professional midwife.

Meanwhile, Jessa is quickly approaching her Nov. 1 due date — so I bet one of the specials will feature her delivery.

TLC GM Nancy Daniels added both of the young women were very eager to do the shows and she believes fans will also embrace the specials. “We know that our audience is really excited about what’s been going on with Jill and Jessa as they move into young adulthood,” she said. “And now they’re both at the precipice of big changes. With what was happening in their lives in the next few months, it felt like now is the time (for the specials), and we got going pretty quickly.”

The titles and air dates for the specials haven’t been announced yet.
