When it was reported earlier today that Teen Mom 2‘s Leah Messer and Corey Simms recently had an affair in the back of his work truck, the story seemed pretty far-fetched. But, now we have solid confirmation: Two separate, very good sources told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup the romp occurred last fall — when Leah was still married to Jeremy Calvert and Corey was with wife Miranda Simms.
“Corey regrets it, especially since Miranda is pregnant now,” one of the sources said. “But he had been talking to Leah for a while, so they both knew what they were doing. It wasn’t just a random mistake. But Miranda forgave him.”
Although the insiders only mentioned one horizontal meeting between Leah and Corey, he communicated with her behind Miranda’s back by using a texting app on his phone.
Unfortunately, we won’t see any of this on Teen Mom 2 because it all went down before the scenes on the current season. However, it explains Miranda’s apparent bitterness toward Leah — which spilled over during the reunion show. (We’ll see whether MTV actually airs that.) The Ashley added the affair also played a part in Jeremy’s decision to divorce Leah last spring. Incredibly, he doesn’t seem to harbor any resentment toward Corey, considering they hung out together while in Los Angeles for the reunion show this summer.
