Caitlyn Jenner’s dating preferences have gotten a fair amount of attention lately–especially since last week’s episode of I Am Cait demonstrated a possible interest in fellow transgender advocate Candis Cayne. Now, thanks to a just-released preview of this week’s episode, we know the topic isn’t likely to vanish anytime soon.
In the clip, Caitlyn and friends are visiting over dinner and wine when the subject of gender preference comes up. For Caitlyn–who, as the newest member of the group, can’t help but be at the center of these discussions–things get a little bit uncertain.
“I want to know,” the question begins, “what it’s like to date as a trans woman in our community.”
To which the whole table responds: “Caitlyn, you start!”
“You’ve told us, many times,” a friend goads her, “you’ve only been attracted to women.”
“I’ve only been with women,” Caitlyn replies.
Following some more pressure from the group, Caitlyn tries to put her foot down: “I’ve got bigger things than an orgasm to worry about. Bigger things to worry about than an orgasm. So…”
After that, another question is put to the group: “Who’s more attracted to men?” A smattering of hands go up, but Caitlyn keeps hers to herself. “I don’t know,” she says, when the group turns to look at her. “I’ve never been with a guy.”
In the confessional following the dinner party, Caitlyn admits to more frustration with the topic than she let on. “‘Are you going to date women,’ ‘Are you going to date men,'” she says, mimicking the kinds of questions she gets asked on the regular. “‘What are you going to do?’ You know, I don’t know!”
The subject is sure to get more attention as Caitlyn Jenner decides whether or not to continue with her sex reassignment surgery.
