Bobbi Kristina has been in hospice care for over two weeks, but her family remains hopeful that an evenutal autopsy will lead to a murder charge–and that the ensuing criminal trial will bring both justice and closure.
According to celebrity coroner Dr. Cyril Wecht, the alleged brain trauma that Bobbi Kristina suffered at the hands of Nick Gordon before being found unconscious in her bathtub will be apparent to any medical examiner. “If she was beaten,” Dr. Wecht said, “and there was evidence of that beating, the autopsy will show how she sustained a brain injury causing the brain to swell.”
According to Dr. Wecht, X-rays should be able to detect any and all “trauma, including fractures, dislocations and injuries to the spinal cord.”
Wecht did not describe the effects of the five month interval between any such beating and now, or whether a five-month-old head injury would still appear in an autopsy.
It was earlier this year that high-profile attorney Julie Rice–who is also impartial with regard to the Bobbi Kristina case–explained the likely strategy of the police, given Bobbi Kristina’s condition:
They are most likely waiting to see the outcome of whether or not she dies before bringing any charges. They would most likely wait until if she died to bring charges rather than bring charges when there is no death involved. If they do have a suspect in mind, they are probably monitoring that person at all times.
Bobbi Kristina’s ex-boyfriend Nick Gordon remains the only suspect in her case. Recently, Bobbi Kristina’s family filed a civil suit against Gordon, alleging emotional and physical abuse. And, recently, the Roswell GA Police Department turned Bobbi Kristina’s investigation over to the Fulton County Police, which is now in charge of all criminal aspects.
“The autopsy will help make a murder case against Nick Gordon,” said a prominent law enforcement source. “It’s a valuable tool, and the evidence from the postmortem exam can be presented to a grand jury.”
Meanwhile, Bobbi Kristina’s aunt Leolah again lashed out at both the media and the Houstons in a lengthy Facebook tirade. Leolah Brown has been relentlessly critical of the coverage Bobbi Kristina has received; she has also thrown pointed barbs as the Houston family in the wake of the deathbed photo scandal.
The Brown family (not including Bobby) was recently banned from Bobbi Kristina’s hospice, as staff at the Peachtree Christian Hospice determined that it was a member of the Brown troupe who snapped the shot. According to Leolah, though, that just isn’t true:
I will not say much right now-but please be aware that I am just as shocked as you are when it comes to the rctus of my niece, Bobbi Kristina even being in hospice period! To the best of my knowledge, she was getting better! From what I knew and heard-hospice was not even a thought in any Brown’s head! I am angry because in my mind (and I will ALWAYS say this as long as God keeps breath in me) Bobbi Kristina WAS GETTING BETTER! Now strangely-all the sudden shes in hospice! Sneaky stuff going on all along..And now pictures come up! And they expect THE BROWNS to be understanding and just stand down!!??? And don’t tell me a Brown took that picture! That is a Dam set up to throw off the real culprits!! Meanwhile Bobbi Kristina is not comfortable with NOT ONE HOUSTON coming up there to see her! Yes, I said it because it’s the DAM TRUTH! FURTHERMORE, BOBBI KRISS DOES NOT WANT PAT GARLAND NOWHERE NEAR HER!!! THIS IS SAD!!!! I CANT IMAGINE WHAT IS GOING THRU BOBBI GIRL’S HEAD RIGHT NOW! WE NEED TO AT LEAST GRANT HER HER WISHES!!! IF SHE DON’T WANT PAT THERE-SHE NEEDS TO STAY OUT! ENUFF ALREADY!!!
