PornHub wants to film actual space porn, is using Indiegogo to raise the money

Astronaut

Noted adult film website PornHub is using Indiegogo to–ahem–raise money for a real-life space porn the site wants to–cough–shoot. The pornographers are aiming for a $3.4 million budget for this space porn opera, and they’ve laid out all the relevant donor information on a handy dandy crowdfunding page that you can peruse behind closed doors.

(Cue relevant “docking” and “small step / giant leap” jokes. Bonus points if you can figure out a sex joke involving astronaut ice cream.)

There’s also an introductory video:

PornHub would work with noted porn production company Digital Underground on the project. “Who are Digital Underground,” potential investors ask? Well–they’re responsible for the pornographic films Where’s My Meatballs?, popular Game of Thrones parody Game of Balls, Stay-cation ThreesomePanties in the SkyX-Ray Porn Glasses, and, in perhaps the laziest but most direct bit of titling of all time, Fifty Ways to F*ck. (For a full list of Digital Playground titles, here is the very not-safest of Not Safe For Work links.)

The project has been live for five days, and, so far, has garnered a grand total of $51,067 from 1,092 donors. One reason might be because the donor perks are, frankly, quite lame. For example: a $150,000 “Uranus”-level donor gets the Saturn-level swag bag–filled with a PornHub T-shirt, a one-week subscription to the Johnny Sins website, an HD digital copy of the finished space porn, a PornHub sticker…and one of the two astrunaut suits used in the film. But a $100 “Saturn”-level donor gets all of that stuff except the astronaut suit. So, really, the only question you have to ask yourself when choosing between the two is whether a sex-stained space porn costume is worth $149,900.

As Business Insider points out, though, the benefits of this endeavor–should it succeed–might have long-term repercussions for humanity. After all, if we’re ever going to colonize deep space, we’re going to need to procreate while on our way to our destination, and then train our tiny space children in the ways of both astrunautery and human behavior. And what better way to get a jump start on that than by filming an honest-to-God space porn, and studying the results?
