REPORT Bobbi Kristina timeline: Complete breakdown of the ongoing story (Updated 6/24)

Bobbi Kristina Brown and her Yorkie dog Kyzer

Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unconscious in her bathtub in the early morning hours of January 31st. Since then, her medical condition has deteriorated, while the family squabblings regarding her situation have intensified. The following is a complete Bobbi Kristina timeline, from the bathtub accident to today.

January 31: Bobbi Kristina is found unconscious in her bathtub at home. Boyfriend Nick Gordon and friend Max Lomas discover BK in the early morning hours, and stay with her as she is transported to North Fulton Hospital in Atlanta. The earliest prognoses are hopeful.

February 1: Doctors place Bobbi Kristina in a coma in order to stabilize her condition. Family members–including father Bobby Brown–return to Atlanta to be by BK’s side.

February 2: The earliest reports of funeral preparations leak out from the hospital. Despite early signs of encouragement, medical staff tell family members to brace for the worst. Some family members acknowledge that recovery would be “a miracle.”

February 3: In their second search of Bobbi Kristina’s home, police find an assortment of drugs. Nick Gordon, who is himself a person of interest in the case due to a recent fight he had with Bobbi Kristina, pleads innocence where the drugs are concerned.

Bobbi Kristina Brown Update Big Feature

February 10: Reports emerge that the family plans to remove BK from life support on the anniversary of Whitney Houston’s death. These reports are proven false when the anniversary–February 11–passes without event.

February 13: Nick Gordon denies that he has been fighting the Brown and Houston families in order to see BK. Gordon does acknowledge, however, that he wants to see Bobbi, but promises to abide by the wishes of the family, which does not care for him.

February 16: Gordon re-emerges with a “Bobbi Kristina” tattoo after a brief period of public silence. The longtime boyfriend and possible secret husband of the ailing woman appears distraught, and posts a series of messages to Twitter.

February 22: A series of friends and acquaintances come forward with tales of Bobbi Kristina’s drug use. Some of these stories are unsubstantiated, but others remain unrefuted, and the possibility of serious drug use lingers.

March 3: Reports indicate that the Browns and Houstons are filming a reality series while in the midst of dealing with the Bobbi Kristina crisis. Family members insist that these reports are inaccurate, though the swirl of cameras and media around the families continues.

March 17: Bobbi Kristina’s cousin Jerod Brown releases “Pray for BK,” a tribute to his fallen family member. Jerod has been perhaps the most outspoken of all the Brown family members, and, among other things, has alleged that Nick Gordon may have had something foul to do with BK’s condition.

March 21: Bobbi Kristina is moved from her hospital bed to an undisclosed treatment center in Atlanta. Family sources indicate that the move came in part for a desire for privacy, and in part due to the hope that BK’s condition might improve if she were in calmer surroundings. Despite many contradictory reports, Bobbi Kristina is not moved from life support.

March 26: BK’s grandmother Cissy Houston acknowledges that there is “not a lot of hope” for Bobbi. Cissy also indicates that she, and most of the Houston family, have made peace with the possibility that Bobbi Kristina will not recover.

April 14: Father Bobby Brown follows in Cissy’s footsteps, and pronounces that he “gives it to God.” Bobby makes the announcement during a concert; members of the audience asked him about BK’s condition until he felt he was forced to speak. To this point, Brown has been outspoken in his belief in recovery for his daughter.

April 28: Bobby files for formal control of Bobbi Kristina’s estate. At stake: The $20 million inheritance that Whitney Houston left Bobbi Kristina in her will, and which, to this point, has been controlled by Cissy and Pat Houston. Bobby has been Bobbi’s legal guardian, which means he has control over medical decisions, but not financial ones.

May 6: An Atlanta judge rules against both Bobby and the Houstons. The judge gives the two sides shared guardianship of BK, and forces them to work together to make any medical decisions. Control of BK’s finances is given to an independent third party.

May 13: The families announce their intent to move Bobbi Kristina back into her townhouse. The Browns and Houstons want to surround BK with mementos and photos of her mother, and, while they intend to keep her on life support, they want her to “go in peace,” if that’s what happens.

May 26: The families announce that they are going to remove Bobbi Kristina from life support. It’s not the first time that a Brown or a Houston has made a related announcement–there have been at least two other notices that BK was “near death” since February.

May 28: Gallery Books announces the forthcoming publication of Whitney and Bobbi Kristina: The Deadly Price of Fame. The book will detail Houston’s ongoing battle with drug addiction, and argue that Bobbi Kristina’s own drug problems came as a direct result of her mother’s fame, and that they intensified after Houston’s death.

May 30: Bobby Brown remains defiant in the face of earlier reports, and insists he’ll “Never” remove Bobbi Kristina from life support. The statement comes in two different publications from two different family members, and ensures that the drama will continue for at least the foreseeable future, if not longer.

June 24: The Brown and Houston families announce that they have moved Bobbi Kristina from her DeKalb County rehabilition center into hospice care. The statement, presented to the media by Pat Houston, concludes with the words “She is in God’s hands, now.”
