For her first Tinder date last night, Hilary Duff brought along some backup — in the form of her old Lizzie McGuire co-stars Jake Thomas and Lalaine Vergara!
“So this happened last night,” Jake, who played younger brother Matt McGuire on the Disney show, said on Instagram.
A few months ago, Jake and Lalaine had another Lizzie McGuire reunion with Clayton Snyder, who played Lizzie’s crush. As much as we would like to see them all back together, it was probably a good idea Hilary didn’t invite Clayton along to further intimidate her actual date. She did however bring along several other ladies for the bowling date.
Although Hilary’s been off the dating circuit of several years before filing for divorce in February, she said she wasn’t totally unfair to the mystery man, who also brought friends along. Speaking to Ryan Seacrest this morning (via TooFab), she said the date with “Tom” went surprisingly well — even though he has one big thing going against him.
“He was cool… He used to be in editing for reality shows. Now, he’s an actor and he just wrote a play. He’s an interesting guy. To be honest, I don’t really want an actor,” she said. “I don’t know how I’m feeling. We’ll see how it goes.”
Now that she has one successful date under her belt, Hilary isn’t in a rush to take a relationship to the next level.
“I’m just a Tinder animal,” she said. “I had my Tinder training wheels on for my first date. Now it’s smooth sailing.”
