Parenthood looks good on Derick and Jill Dillard!
The young couple welcomed their first child, Israel David Dillard, late on Monday night in an Arkansas hospital. After the news was announced today, her family shared some sweet pictures of the new parents on Facebook.
The photo of Derick bonding with Israel really shows just how big of a baby he is: He measured in at 9 lbs., 10 oz. and 23 in. long. That puts him in the 95th percentile for weight and length!
In addition to congratulations from their thousands of fans, Jill and Derick are getting well-wishes from their families.
“Congrats to my sister @jillmdillard, and brother-in-law, @derickdillard, on the birth of their beautiful baby boy, Israel David Dillard,” Jessa said on Instagram, where she reposted the first public picture of the family.
Cousin Amy Duggar shared the same picture. She added, “Welcome to the world little Israel David! You are already so loved! Congrats you two!”
The Duggars’ TV family also welcomed the little guy into the world on Twitter, where they said, “We’re so glad he’s here! Welcome Jill & Derick’s bundle of joy to the @TLC family using #BabyDilly!” Tweets featuring the hashtag will be featured during tonight’s episode of 19 Kids and Counting.
Israel’s birth story will be featured in a Mother’s Day special on TLC. A new episode of 19 Kids and Counting will air as scheduled tonight at 9/8c.
