Will Teen Mom 2 be like Teen Mom OG by breaking the fourth wall?

Teen-Mom-2-Breaking-Fourth-Wall

Thanks to the fourth wall finally coming down on Teen Mom OG, viewers get to see the ladies reference their fame, each other and the producers for the first time.

After years of pretending they are just ordinary young moms, the change is really overdue — so it was a bit of a bummer to think we might have to go back to the charade on the upcoming season of Teen Mom 2. Fortunately, sources tell The Ashley’s Reality Roundup that Teen Mom 2 will be like Teen Mom OG, at least to some extent.

“They haven’t broken the fourth wall completely but they are going to see if they can,” the source said.

Another insider explained camera crews will play a bigger role in some of the storylines. For example, it would be pretty hard to glaze over the crew’s role in Jenelle Evans’ life, considering they were the ones who called cops during her fight with Nathan Griffith last month, which led to his arrest.

Another refreshing part about the new format is that the cast can authentically confide in the producers — rather than staging an awkward conversation with a friend at a coffee shop days later. The moms can also talk about each other, instead of pretending they don’t exist. (Once upon a time, MTV went to great lengths to make sure the co-stars didn’t appear in footage at various weddings.)

The next season of Teen Mom 2 is currently in production. The Ashley reports it will feature Jenelle’s troubles with Nathan, Chelsea Houska’s new relationship with Cole DeBoer, Leah Calvert and Jeremy Calvert’s relationship problems and Kailyn Lowry’s trip to the Grammy Awards. There’s no word on when it will premiere.
