Based on previews, this season of Teen Mom OG promises to feature some tense moments for Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra with Carly’s adoptive parents, Brandon and Teresa.
“This whole adoption thing was supposed to be a lot different in my opinion,” Tyler said to Catelynn in a clip. “You guys are adults. You knew exactly how you wanted to raise your daughter. Did you want to raise her with cameras or not?”
There was also a recent report in InTouch that Brandon and Teresa “threatened to cut off contact” because “they’re not happy with Catelynn and Tyler’s behavior and refusal to follow the adoption rule.” The insider added Brandon and Teresa are particularly frustrated that the young parents continue to post pictures of Carly on social media.
“Obviously, Brandon and Teresa are upset,” the source said. “They’re getting more concerned about Carly being in the public eye as she gets older. The relationship is really strained.”
However, Catelynn cautions that people shouldn’t always “believe what you read.”

Speaking in more length with E! News, Catelynn said her and Tyler’s current relationship with Brandon and Teresa is “really good.”
“You definitely see us this season have a huge conversation with them where we all sit and talk about things. I think that helped a lot,” she explained. “It was definitely an intense moment but our relationship is still very open.”
Although Catelynn and Tyler only get to see Carly (who lives states away) once a year, they regularly get to talk with her and see new pictures. They also hope to introduce Carly to baby Nova in the near future.
“I’m not sure if it will be on the reunion show. I don’t know if they’ll be able to come or not or if it will be on our next visit,” Catelynn said. “We’ll have to see how that works out.”
