Katy Perry sparked some rumors when she uploaded this photo on Instagram, but she confirmed today on Ryan Seacrest, that she’s only a “mom” to her Katy Kats.
“I am a mother to all of the Katy Cats,” she told Ryan “They call me mom. It’s like an Internet thing. You’re really kind of aging yourself, Ryan.” Last fall Lorde explained what calling someone “mom” means after people thought she was insulting Kim Kardashian with the nickname. “i retweeted kim’s amazing cover and wrote ‘MOM’, which among the youthz is a compliment; it basically jokingly means ‘adopt me/be my second mom/i think of you as a mother figure you are so epic,'” she explained.
Katy went on to elaborate that her schedule made her way too busy to get pregnant. “Listen, I’m on tour and I’ve done 127 tour dates so far. It wouldn’t be appropriate at this point right now, but I am the mother to all the Katy Cats and that’s what I posted on Instagram.”
