36-year-old Robert Jason Owens has been arrested and charged with murdering 38-year-old Food Network Star contestant Cristie Schoen Codd, who was five months pregnant and her 45-year-old husband Joseph “JT” Codd. The couple were reported missing this Sunday, and police reports reveal the couple were tragically killed on Thursday.
Owens was their neighbor, who broke into their home and stole a laptop, jewelry, and a handgun. He’s currently being charged with two counts of first degree murder, one count of murder of an unborn child, breaking and entering, and larceny. He was previously linked to the disappearance, and probably murder of Zebb Quinn in 2000.
