19 Kids and Counting‘s Josie Duggar has certainly proven deserving of the “miracle baby” title given to her by her family after she was born weighing less than 1.5 lbs. However, the whole family got another big scare recently when the 5-year-old began having seizures.
“Josie seized 15 minutes before the paramedics got into the house and then kept seizing the whole way here,” sister Jana Duggar said from the hospital in a new 19 Kids and Counting clip (shown below). The paramedic can also be heard saying Josie is “barely breathing.”
It’s unclear what came of that medical scare or whether Josie’s health problems have continued since then. So far, the family hasn’t addressed it on social media — which seems to be a good sign.
Previously, mom Michelle Duggar said there are few doctor-advised limitations for Josie, which is impressive considering she was born 15 weeks early.
“She is so strong. But she’s a miracle. Even though she was born prematurely, she’s caught up in every way now,” Michelle said when Josie was 3. “She is still supposed to be careful to not get too much dairy in her diet, so I am teaching her about it.”
