In the new full-length Pitch Perfect 2 trailer, we nearly get a sneak peek at Fat Amy’s “Down Under,” learn the Barden Bellas have to go head-to-head against an epic European a cappella group to retain their prestige, and come up with six new reasons to love Anna Kendrick, not the least of which being a mic-drop-worthy World War II reference.
Watch the world get Pitch Slapped in this new, full-length Pitch Perfect 2 trailer – which hit the Internet on Feb. 10 – here now:
Rebel Wilson’s cheeky character, Fat Amy, suffers an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction while she and the other Bellas are entertaining the president and a packed auditorium full of dignitaries on his birthday. Following Amy’s aerial aca-accident, the Barden Bellas are suspended from U.S. competition and replaced by – wait for it – heavily accented European competition, Das Sound Machine. The Bellas have to beat them in the world championship to be reinstated – cue the international jabs and one-liners. Accents and broken English just make everything better; think Mean Girls gone Eurotrash and loving it.
Pitch Perfect 2 hits theaters in May 2015, and is the directorial debut of actress Elisabeth Banks. The flick stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Adam DeVine, Skylar Astin, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow and a host of other talent, both returning and brand new.
