Vanity Fair just happened to have some shirtless Tiger Woods photos taken by Annie Leibovitz in their back pocket, and now’s a prime time to unleash them. Starting next Tuesday you can check out a whole slew of them at the newstand or your mailbox when their Feb. 2010 issue comes out, but for now we have the cover photo to gawk at.
Annie said of her shoot with Tiger: “Tiger is an intensely competitive athlete—and quite serious about his sport. I wanted to reveal that in these photos. And to show his incredible focus and dedication.”
Accompanying the photos is an article by sports journalist Buzz Bissinger who muses on the persona of Tiger Woods both pre and post fire hydrant and makes a compelling connection between Tiger and George Clooney’s Up in the Air character Ryan Bingham.
