What’s Tori Spelling’s brother Randy Spelling up to?

Tori isn’t the only Spelling heir sharing her life with the world, her 36-year-old brother Randy appeared on Oprah’s Where Are They Now? to talk about his adult life after growing up ridiculously rich.

“Spelling Manor was a fantastical place,” he said. “It quickly became a fun playground.” But it was a little too fun, with an access to so much excess, he struggled with a drug addiction that almost killed him.

Although their father’s fortune was vast, there are reports that Tori and Randy received only $1 million each in inheritance when their father Aaron Spelling died. That would be a great inheritance for many, but it was a paltry sum compared to what they were used to. Randy seems to be coping with a more simple life better than his sister, who has an addiction to spending.

“I don’t know what really happened with my father’s will,” Randy said. “To a lot of people, [our inheritance] was probably out of balance, considering what he had. To my knowing, my sister and I got equal amounts. Would it have been nice to have been left a whole lot of money? Yes. [But] things happen the way they need to, and my life right now might look very different if I had $10 million sitting in the bank. So, I had to get my wings burned a little bit and fall to learn how to just live rather normally.”

“My life is really different from how I grew up. It’s definitely more quiet and more simple,” he continued. “I am a husband, I’m a father of two amazing girls. We do a lot of cooking. I mean, 90 percent of the food that we eat is all home-cooked.”

Randy works as a life coach and lives in Portland, Oregan with his wife and kids. He keeps in touch with his sister Tori, but the two siblings aren’t extremely close. “Tori and I have an interesting relationship,” he said. “It’s one of love that isn’t always as close as I would like it to be. [But] she’s really busy. She has a lot of stuff going on, and she’s managing four children and a career and a husband. So, we stay in touch how we can, what works for us.”
