Grammy-winner T-Pain is widely credited for helping popularize the use of Auto-Tune… But, when it comes to his own voice, he doesn’t need the extra help!
In a new video for NPR’s Tiny Desks Concerts, T-Pain sang hits Buy U a Drank, Up Down and Drankin’ Patna in his real voice. Although he said the experience was “weird as hell,” the slowed-down songs were seriously beautiful.

Considering how good his voice actually sounds, why did T-Pain even use Auto-Tune in the first place? He told NPR’s All Things Considered he “was just using it to sound different.”
