Following her split from Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, “Mama” June Shannon of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo fame has kindled a romance with 53-year-old Mark McDaniel.
McDaniel is an ex-boyfriend of Shannon’s but the seriously troubling news is that McDaniel was recently released from prison after being convicted of molesting one of June’s relatives.
McDaniel was convicted on 5/20/2004 for aggravated child molestation. In his case prosecutors argued that McDaniel forced oral sex on an 8-year-old child. June was said to have been dating McDaniel at the time that he molested the child.
The registered sex offender served nearly 10 years behind bars before he was released in March.
According to TMZ, Honey Boo Boo’s mom has been dating McDaniel for the last few months – even going as far as buying him various gifts. Their report features a photo of June and Mark together in a motel room where other guests were also said to be “hanging out.”
It was also said that Mama June is still in contact with the victim of this crime.

TLC was obviously caught off guard by the report and reacted by inferring that it could jeopardize the future of the popular reality TV show. “TLC is not currently in production on HERE COMES HONEY BOO BOO. We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series.”
