Actor Stephen Collins will not face any charges after audio surfaced of the 7th Heaven star confessing to having molested and/or exposing himself to 3 young girls.
The NYPD, LAPD and Los Angeles County PD all have open investigations but sources with all 3 departments tell TMZ that the cases will go nowhere. All of the cases are decades old and their sources stated that prosecution would be barred by the statute of limitations.
The case that had the most likely chance at resulting in charges was the one involving a girl in New York City who is now in her 50s. This unnamed woman came forward in 2012 and spoke with detectives but even at that time they all but gave up on any viable case.
Now it has been revealed that this woman will not sue Collins in civil court either. She says that she is not about trying to get any of Collins’ money but instead wanted to provide an example to encourage other victims, possibly ones molested more recently, to come forward.
As it stands now, Stephen Collins has confessed to 3 cases of sexual abuse and will not face any criminal charges for those actions.
