“Django Unchained” actress Misty Upham is dead at 32

Los Angeles Premiere of KILL YOUR DARLINGS

Unfortunately, the mystery of missing actress Misty Upham has a tragic ending.

Upham’s father has identified a body found at the bottom of a 150-foot gorge in Auburn, Washington as that of the Django Unchained actress.

Said Seattle filmmaker Tracy Rector, a member of the search party and a long-time friend of Upham: “We waited at the site where the team found the body. It took about 5½ hours to confirm. Then we gathered around her body to say prayers and now we’re all gathered at the church.”

In addition to Django Unchained, Upham was best known for her work in the 2008 crime drama Frozen River; for the role of Johnna in last year’s August: Osage County; and for her first role, in Cheyenne and Arapaho filmmaker Chris Eyre’s 2002 movie Skins.

Since Upham went missing on October 6th, her father has spoken out several times about his daughter’s battle with mental illness.

Over the past year, police have four times responded to suicide threats at Upham’s apartment.

Authorities have not yet released a cause of death.
