Brad Pitt is like a fine wine, he seems to get better with age. In a recent interview with British GQ, the 50-year-old opens up about his thoughts on Twitter, the idea of happiness, and marriage to his new bride Angelina Jolie.
While big name celebs such as Tom Hanks, Leonard DiCaprio, and Oprah use Twitter as a way to connect with fans and a platform for their social and political views, Brad says he’s fine keeping his 140 character thoughts to himself:
Listen, I see a benefit in it. You could, you know, combat the misconceptions of the misquotes immediately. And if I’d have had that in my younger days, I’d have used it… because I felt quite used, and completely misunderstood, and misread, and not given the benefit of the doubt. You know, I felt that a lot in my first years. I would have brought some logic to the table, and brought it immediately. But now, at this point, I don’t want to bother with it.
The Academy Award winning actor has experienced a great deal of success in his professional and personal life but when it comes to the idea of happiness, Brad isn’t about chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow:
I’ve always believed happiness is overrated, you know? It’s those difficult times that inform the next wonderful time, and it’s a series of trade-offs, of events, of wins and losses.
After being together for ten years and sharing six kids together, some wondered if Brangelina were ever going to make their relationship official. They put all the skeptics to rest when the two tied the knot at their home in France last month. But, was it just a formality in their commitment together? Brad says no:
I wouldn’t say [marriage is] just a title. There’s more to it than that.
Brad is currently promoting his new war film, Fury, which also stars Shia LaBeouf and opens October 17.
