AUDIO Radio host accuses LeAnn Rimes of ruining a concert, she makes matters worse

LeAnn Rimes Funny Face - Rude at Concert

On Sunday, English indie-rock singer David Gray played a show in Phoenix that was attended by KNIX radio host Matt McAllister. As Matt explained on a Monday episode of his program, the show was really good. However, he couldn’t ignore a certain person seated behind him who was talking “very loud” about music and how she was going to get up on stage. Lo and behold, a short time later, David called this person up to sing a duet — and Matt realized the noisy audience member was none other than LeAnn Rimes.

LeAnn Rimes - David Gray

“Not only was LeAnn Rimes sitting right behind us, she goes on stage, they sing a song off his new album. It was great, but then she comes back,” he said. “Instead of just sitting there and, in my opinion, being really respectful and gracious — it’s not her show, it’s his show, just listen… She talked for the next hour… It’s just as annoying as if you’re in a movie and the person next to you won’t shut up.”

That’s not all: Apparently when LeAnn wasn’t talking, she was singing. Very loudly. Matt speculated, “It was almost like… She wanted everyone to know she was there.”

Well, after Matt shared the story, LeAnn called the radio show to take issue with his version of events. After verifying it was indeed LeAnn on the line, Matt said he thought it was “a little disappointing” she talked throughout the concert.

“Actually, that’s really funny. I didn’t at all,” LeAnn claimed. “I was singing for the rest of the concert.”

Not backing down, Matt told LeAnn that she was talking so loud and so much that he heard her say she was going on stage before she was even called up. He said it came off as rude because he figured it was an “etiquette thing” among performers that they don’t distract during someone else’s show. LeAnn then kind of admitted she was talking to her manager to figure out when she needed to go backstage, but stood by her claim that she wasn’t just chatting… She ended the call by playfully threatening to come kick Matt’s a** if he kept “talking trash.”

Although she played kind of dumb on air, LeAnn was more direct and way more incensed on Twitter: “If my husband couldn’t hear me when I talked…. Next time ask nicely in person instead of on the air rudely #balls”
